Salto Peak is located in the northern area of Cordón del Plata. For many years, it was considered a "five-thousand-meters" peak, but nowadays with GPS technologies, it is possible to know the real altitude is 4717m (15,517ft).

It is a very beautiful peak with different kinds of routes: the easy ones (East & West ridge) and the difficult ones with rock and ice climbing (South face). To climb it, you will need three days starting at El Salto Village, at 1900m (6250ft). Ice axe and crampons are useful if climbing between September and January.
