Thornton Peak

Thornton Peak at 1374m is the Highest Peak in the Daintree Region of Northern Queensland and the 4th highest in Queensland after Mt Bartle Frere, Bellenden Ker and Superbus.

The mountain has a number of unusual plants and animals and supports mossy montane rainforest (cloud forest.

There is a plane wreck on the mountain discovered in 2001.
