Like most of the peaks around the Stelvio Pass, Punta del Naso (Grosse Nagler Spitze, 3272 m) is most conveniently climbed from the Pass (2757 m) which is accessible by car. The normal approach is in the south direction from the Pass, first towards the Scorluzzo Pass (2908 m) and then following the road towards Rif. Pirovano and hotel Ortler (3028 m), which can be reached also by lift from the Stelvio Pass. From this point the acces is along the north-east ridge, climbing first the Cima del Chiodo (3259 m). The other possibility is to continue across the glacier in the direction of the Monte Livrio (3174 m) with the Livrio hut atop of it, and to continue along the south-east ridge to the summit. This is a ski area even in summer time, with a lot of glacier surface maintained by machines so crevasses should not be a problem, and do not expect to be alone unless you go very early.
NOTE: Trip reports were previously called "Summit Logs" - same feature, new name
