Hurricane Hill is the northwest culmination of Hurricane Ridge and is located in Olympic National Park. When the Hurricane Ridge road is open beyond the Hurricane Ridge Lodge, a pleasant one mile paved trail (which gains 500 feet through meadows) continues from road's end to the summit. In the winter one can ski or snowshoe from the visitor center to the summit. The summit of Hurricane Hill is a better way to experience the beauty of this area than the crowds at the lodge/visitor center. The summit also is higher and commands a 360 degree panorama of the hundreds of peaks in the park, and Vancouver Island to the north. For an even more natural experience, there is a primitive trail from the Elwha valley that starts at 400 feet elevation and climbs 5.8 miles to the 5757 ft elevation summit.
