Steeple Rock is located in Olympic National Park, and is one of several high points on Hurricane Ridge. The pinnacle is a 200 foot basalt spire crowning the slate and sandstone peak. It's a scramble on the north side, but there a several technical climbing routes on the pinnacle. The peak is visible from the Hurricane Ridge Road and at the lodge because it's just two miles east on the Obstruction Point Road. There is a wide spot in the road to park under the spire to gain easy access. Less than an hour to climb from that spot. Add extra if the Obstruction Point Road is closed due to snowpack.
Prominence: 567 feet
Refer to "Climber's Guide to the Olympic Mountains" by Olympic Mountain Rescue for information on the technical rock climbing routes.
