Crystal Mountain

Featured photo of Crystal Mountain

Crystal Mountain is located along the east boundary of Mount Rainier National Park on the leeward side of Mount Rainier. Crystal Lake is immediately on the south side of the peak. The west side of Crystal Mountain is within Mount Rainier National Park, and the east side is part of the Crystal Mountain Ski Resort, but there are no ski lifts on the main peak proper. The ski lifts and runs are on the other peaks on Crystal Mountain's high ridge north of the main peak. Crystal Mountain's name likely came about for its remarkable glass-like formations. (Sproule).
