Gitschen is a striking mountain in the canton of Uri, Switzerland. It is the prominent mountain seen from the town of Flüelen looking across the lake. Gitschen is situated at the southeast tip of Lake Lucerne where the Reuss River enters the lake. It is also north of Surenen Pass. With 2000 meters of vertical relief above the lake, the summit has a beautiful 360 degree panorama including Lake Lucerne and close views of Brunnistock (its parent), Uri Rotstock, Schlieren, and many others.
