Thanks to Agnese for adding this peak.

Pointe d’Orny is part of the Mont Blanc massif.

From Champex, a nice village on a charming lake at 1470 m., it’s possible to take a chair lift up to La Breya (2194 m.). From here a trail, easy and slightly uphill at the beginning, then rocky and steep, goes to Orny hut (2830 m.).

You continue then on a steep and rocky path, equipped with a ladder and some ropes at the most exposed places, and reach Trient hut (3170 m.). Pointe d’Orny is just about 100 m. above Trient hut. The best way to reach its summit is to scramble up the rocky ridge, trying to guess the best path to follow.

From the summit (3271 m.), amazing views of Plateau de Trient glacier and of several peaks, including Grand Combin, Mont Blanc de Cheilon, Weisshorn, Dents du Midi and, if the sky is clear enough, Matterhorn.

The hike is spectacular: you climb along Orny glacier, pass by mountain lakes, reach the two isolated huts directly facing the glaciers, then follow Plateau de Trient glacier, while always surrounded by stunning peaks
