Climbing the south face again.
This time no there was no snow all the way to the top. Is a shorter route than Piedra Grande, but under no snow-conditions, the climb is really a "pain in the rear". Besides the altitude, we fighted with lose sand and gravel all the way. Climbing one step up and moving two down (no kidding). It took us (a team of 4) between 6 to 8 hours to reach te top from Fausto Gonzales hut.
The view, clear air, blue sky and a wonderful sun set on the way down surpassed all the pain of the climb.
Next march the north route is waiting for us.
Feel free to e.mail me for any question or adivice.
