Mount Wow is a mountain with an elevation of 6,040+ feet which is just inside the Longmire or Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park. "Wow" is a corruption of a Yakima Indian word meaning "goat" and early tourists often saw mountain goats on the slopes of this mountain. Wow is situated south of Gobblers Knob and northwest of Tumtum Peak, with the Westside Road hugging its east footing. No trail or easy access to the mountain, plan on routefinding from an old logging road at Goat Creek to reach the Southwest Ridge.
Refer to Fred Beckey's Cascade Alpine Guide, Volume 1 for approach information.
Prominence: 2120 feet.
