Brown Peak is located in the northeast corner of Mount Rainier National Park and is a member of the Sourdough Mountains. It is situated directly east of The Palisades, and connected to the north by a high ridge to Slide Mountain. It can be seen from the road at Sunrise Point. Access starts at the Palisades Trailhead at Sunrise Point, and from Upper Palisades Lake follow a path to the saddle between Brown Peak and Slide Mountain. Hike to the summit from the saddle. 8 1/2 miles round-trip from Sunrise Point.
