As a neophyte climber, I can only say that it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. With a weekend of training on a glacier, an aborted attempt of Athabasca, and a distinguished running career...the Company of Adventurers molded me into a climbing machine.
The experience gets into your blood and like those that see the circus for the first time, I wanted to give up my valley life for one of the mountains.
Most of the climb is 45 degrees, with some angles getting a little more acute (say 70?). This meant making sure you kissed the mountain as you used the front end of the crampons and the ice axe to get up.
Congratulations go to Bernie Woods who organized all this and to the 7 remaining teammates who made this truly an experience to remember.
