We arrived on Christmdas day. The mountain was covered with snow. The chalet was full, so we camped outside with a beautiful view of the mountains below the clouds at sunset. On 26th morning there was mist right down to our tent. We began ascending, fully equiped, and the mist gradually began rising. A glorious day on the summits, with 2232 the last. Views of Bulgarian high peaks and Rodopi mountains at the borders. From Chionotrypa there is a breathtaking view downwards the 800m climbing slope. In spring time the plain of Agio Pnevma, from the side of the chalet, is full of alpine flowers; some are called the "greek edelweiss". A great place to be any time in the year.
