Very stormy climb. The route of Cotopaxi summit is significantly easy. However this night nature was against us. 12 or 13 groups departed from the Refugio (mountian shelter) at 12 am. The weather was significantly cloudiy, windy, and cold. After a long night, only three groups made it to the summit. I lead the first trails up until the glacier where local guides took the lead, but most of them were forced to go back to the shelter because of the terrible weather conditions, or altitude sickness of their clients. 6:40 am we made to the summit, couldnt see the crater, or lands cape surrounding the volcano but the summit was achieved. 10 am we made it back to the shelter really tired, cold, and dehydrated. Covered in a full body and gear layer of at least 1 cm of ice.
