Set off from Glenridding Car Park (after going round twice for a parking spot!) at 12.30pm & headed for Hole-in-the-Wall where we had lunch. Not too busy, as weather was overcast with cloud base approx. 3,000ft & clearing through the day. Set off for Striding Edge (where Simon had a loose rock "moment" that ended in a black eye & a very bruised pride!) Breathtaking views from the Edge up to summit. Deceptively time consuming due to concentration levels needed scaling rock face. On return from summit via Swirral Edge, cloud base lifted leaving a glorious late afternoon sunshine with a pure-blue sky. Rounded walk off at around 6.00pm in the Traveller's Rest with a (very!) swift pint before heading back to Orton. Best climbing of the Lakes I've ever done. Def. recommended!!
