Helvellyn Trip Report (#12248)

We climbed Helvellyn the hard way up Striding edge, the only other peak we'd climbed was the Old man of Coniston, so it was a bit hard for me. Worth every aching limb though! What a buzz when we reached the summit! We did have a bit of help from a couple of montain rescue guys who happened to be going for a 'stroll' up to the top, or rather I had help! Rob was fine but I panicked a bit on the start of Striding edge and they guided us along it! True heroes they were! All round trip took about seven hours and not bad weather either!
