Breckenridge Mountain

Featured photo of Breckenridge Mountain

Breckenridge Mountain is a prominent peak in the eastern skyline visible from Bakersfield, CA (not to be confused with the one in Colorado). A fire lookout tower is at the top which is usually staffed June through October. It is possible to drive all the way to the top in a high clearance vehicle, but it is also a nice hike in the winter (with proper snow gear) on foot.
