This volcano has one of the most beautiful views I've ever seen. The view, in clear days, of almost all the big volcanoes of Guatemala is astonishing. There are usualy two ways to go: the first begins at the CA-1 road (the road to Quetzaltenango) on Km 173. You walk along the Zunil ridge, passing the radio antenas, the Zunil summit, going down to the "horqueta" or junction of the Zunil and Sto. Tomas mountains, and finaly reaching the "pajonales" (straw fields). From this pont you go to the top. Between Zunil and Sto. tomas, are impressive near verticaly walls, of hundrets of meters, and a dense jungle, etc. It's a very nice tour. But the trails are sometimes close with vegetation, so if you don't know, you can get lost there, be carefull.
