I climbed along the Yoshida-guchi Route. I have started from Fuji-Yoshida at 9.00 am and reached the Kengamine peak at 0.45 am. The lower parts of the volcano (until 2300 metres) are covered by beautiful forests and they aren't crowded. There are two huts; at one of them I got a cup of tea and a cucumber and much sympathy being the only gaijin on the trail. The upper part of the volcano is a big industrial climbing, but the people are very sympathic. There are some Coca Cola harakiries on the crater rim. On the peak, I have met some Celebesian climbers. At dawn, we could see the Sakasa Fuji, the enormous trigonal shadow of the mountain over the clouds.
