One word of wisdom which I hope will save someone's life...don't go there thinking that you can climb fixed ropes all the way and therefore treat it as a guided tour or via ferrata. There is a lot of tat up there and a lot of it is not attached to anything. Make sure you are capable of climbing to at least HVS on rock and Scottish grade 3/4 ice before you go anywhere near it!!!...Oh and Mark Twight's book "Extreme Alpinism" is the bible as far as a training routine for it...especially the heart rate monitoring. I would recommend a simple trek Eg Langtang valley beforehand if you can spare the time (of course you can...you wouldn't want to take unnecessary risks would you...besides the curd at Kyangshin Gompa is awesome)to get acclimatised and also to get back to passing solids again. That's all. Jon
