The Old Man Of Coniston Trip Report (#15559)
- Signed By: Sue & Philip Powell
- Date submitted: April 25, 2003
- Date(s) climbed: 19th April 2003
Following the previous wet, low visibility ascent, went again in April 2003. A lovely clear day, but what wind!
This was physically hard, due solely to the very high wind conditions. Wind chill factor turned a warm day into -4 degrees C on all the tops and added about 2 hours walking time onto the anticipated total time.
Ascended through the Coppermines Valley and then detoured to Goats Hawse, Dow Crag, Levers Hawse and Swirl How before descending via Levers Water reservoir and back to Coniston town.
