Ormes Peak Trip Report (#16934)

This was my first climb of Ormes Peak. My brother and I started from the housing development of Peregrine in NW Colorado Springs. We went up the main valley to the south of Blodgett Peak. Once at the top of the ridge line (appx. 9,400') you can see Ormes Peak, Pikes Peak, etc. From the ridge line the summit is due west for appx. another 2-3 miles, but no trail.
I recommend getting to know the Pikes Peak area topographical map of the area, and carrying a compass. This hike took over 5 hours and was strenous, mainly because of lack of trail, and up and down going through the valleys. I thought it was worth it because of the amazing views of just about everything!
