I took approx. 2 and a half hours to summit Grays Peak.I started off from the Grays Peak Trailhead @ 8:45 A.M. Most of the trail is loose rock. At about 13,000 feet I saw a mountain goat on the trail. From the top of Grays Peak you can see The Breckenridge Ski area to the west and Mount Evans and Mount Bierstadt to the east. After Grays I ascended to the saddle between Grays and Torrys an Also sumitted Torrys which took approx. 1 Hour from the summit of Grays. The views on tne summit of Torrys was similiar to the summit of Grays. The Ascent back to the trailhead took a little over 2 hours and the whole trip depending on the time Spent on the summit will take approx. 6 Hours. It was a great hike I do recomend starting a little earlier than 8:45am. I was lucky that day because their was no major weather but most of the time you want to start earlier to summit and ascend by early afternoon. Also the road to the trailhead is a little rough so a SUV or four wheel drive is recomended.
Trip was Just under 9 miles.
