I climbed this peak with my son, Devin age 18, and my daughter Lucy age 17. We used Senor Reyes services and everything was excellent. Both kids did very well on the climb and we all summited. It was a long and grueling climb but what a great feeling of success to get to the summit with your two kids. They were incredible, especially Lucy toughing it out all the way. I had failed to properly acclimatize on a previous attempt in 1997 and got very sick less than half way up. This time we all used Diamox and it helped greatly. Also we spent a lot more time acclimatizing. Senior Reyes place is a great place to stay and you are treated very well. The food is great and the town of Tialachicua is fun, especially on market day. I hope to return with my younger kids someday and climb this peak again. Mexico City was great as well. Easy to get around even with my terrible attempts at Spanish!
