Tsjangabang rises in the Garhwal region in northern India which has many six-thousanders and also a couple of 7000ers; highest of which:
Nanda Devi. The "easiest" approach of Tsjangabang is via the south-east ridge. Other ways to reach the summit are extremely difficult.
"The Shining mountain" by Peter Boardman (1978) describes the ascent of probably the most difficult face on the mountain; the
west face. Boardman died on Everest in 1982, after he had already climbed this mountain
successfully, a year before he reached the summit of Tsjangabang.
